What does the monthly subscription cover?
Your monthly plan covers full access to the RYDE booking engine — unlimited bookings, unlimited drivers and vehicles, all software updates, and email support. Plan tiers determine who installs and configures the plugin (you, us, or our branded install service) and the level of support you receive. No per-booking fees, no revenue share — RYDE takes $0 of your earnings.
Is there a contract or cancellation fee?
No contracts and no cancellation fees. Everything is month-to-month, and you can cancel anytime from your account dashboard. We email confirmation immediately. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period. If you cancel during your free trial, nothing is charged.
Do I need technical skills to install this?
Basic WordPress admin knowledge helps — knowing how to log into wp-admin, upload a plugin, and activate it. If you've ever installed a WordPress plugin before, you can install RYDE. Our setup wizard walks you through every configuration step with explanations and industry-standard recommendations. If you'd rather have us handle it, the Managed Install tier includes full installation and setup for a one-time $299 fee.
What if my hosting doesn't meet the requirements?
The plugin requires WordPress 5.8+, PHP 8.0+, and MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB 10.2+. Most modern hosting providers meet these by default. If your current host is on older PHP or MySQL versions, most hosting providers let you upgrade in their control panel (often with one click) or you can contact their support. Our technical setup guide covers hosting upgrades for the major providers. If upgrading isn't an option, our Business-in-a-Box service includes hosting as part of the package.
Does the plugin work with my existing theme and page builders?
Yes. The RYDE plugin works with any WordPress theme that meets our technical requirements. It's specifically tested with Elementor, Divi, Gutenberg, WPBakery, Beaver Builder, and Oxygen. You can add the booking widget to any page using shortcodes or page builder blocks. If you encounter a theme conflict, our support team can help resolve it.
Can I switch to Business-in-a-Box later?
Yes. If you start with the plugin and later decide you want us to manage your entire business (new website, hosting, complete setup), you can upgrade to Business-in-a-Box at any time. Your customer data, bookings, and settings transfer over. Contact us when you're ready and we'll handle the transition.
Is the booking engine really the same as Business-in-a-Box?
Yes. Both products run on the exact same RYDE booking engine — same pricing engine, same fleet management, same payment processing, same customer notifications. The difference between Plugin and Business-in-a-Box is the delivery model: Plugin installs on your existing WordPress site and runs on your hosting; Business-in-a-Box is a done-for-you service where we build your site, host it, and configure everything.
Can I use my own payment processor?
Yes. The plugin supports Stripe, Square, and custom payment processors. You connect your own merchant account during setup, and RYDE takes $0 of your revenue. All payments go directly to your bank account. Customer data and payment processing are fully owned and controlled by you.
How does the plugin get updates, and what happens to my data if I cancel?
Plugin updates are delivered through your RYDE dashboard — you receive an update notification, and the plugin updates like any other WordPress plugin. All software updates are included in your subscription. If you cancel, you can export all your data (bookings, customer profiles, revenue reports) as CSV files. The booking widget stops accepting new bookings, but your existing data remains accessible until you've exported what you need.
